Negaunne is a town of approximately 4,500 just west of Marquette. Negaunee was incorporated just after the Civil War and its history has been tied to mining. It is home to the Michigan Iron Industry Museum.
Negaunee is known for its fine schools which usually rate in the top 20% of all Michigan schools. Sports especially basketball are also a source of local pride. There are abundant recreational opportunities in the area and it is home to Teal Lake.
